U70B Disc Suspension Toughened Glass Insulators uses high-strength toughened glass as the insulating core, paired with precision metal fittings, to deliver dual functions of electrical insulation and mechanical load-bearing. With a rated mechanical failing load of 70kN, it stably withstands complex stresses such as conductor tension, ice loads, and wind impacts, operating reliably in extreme environments including frigid, humid, lightning-prone, and heavily polluted areas.

Compliant with the international IEC 60383 standard, it features a unique zero-value self-breaking property: when insulation fails, the glass disc shatters automatically, allowing operators to quickly identify faults from the ground, significantly reducing inspection costs and outage risks. Additionally, its glass surface offers excellent resistance to arc burns, maintaining mechanical strength and insulation after lightning strikes to minimize downtime.

Compared to porcelain insulators, U70B glass insulators offer longer service life, lower maintenance costs, and higher reliability, making them the preferred choice for upgrading and new high-voltage transmission projects, especially in EHV and UHV grids.
