ANSI 52-3: Used in 11–33 kV distribution lines or low-tension transmission systems. Suitable for lighter mechanical loads, with a minimum mechanical failing load of approximately 15,000 lbs (67 kN).
ANSI 52-5: Suitable for 33–69 kV systems, often in areas with moderate pollution. Designed for moderate loads, with a minimum failing load of around 20,000 lbs (89 kN).
ANSI 52-8: Deployed in 69–138 kV transmission lines or harsh environments (coastal, industrial). Built for heavier loads, with a minimum failing load of about 30,000 lbs (133 kN).
